A LEDBURY based police officer  has appeared in court accused of having sex with two vulnerable women victims of crime while he was on duty.

PC Ian Langford  is charged with misconduct in public office by engaging in sexual activity with the women, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The 46-year-old, from Tewkesbury, entered no pleas at today’s hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Gloucester Crown Court  next month.

The alleged offences occurred in Hereford between May 2012 and August 2013 while the officer was on duty.

PC Langford , based in Ledbury, has been suspended from duty since his arrest in September.

Earlier this month, West Mercia Police confirmed he had been charged after his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office and suspension from duty in September.
