HEREFORD Times editor Fiona Phillips will be among those discussing the future of journalism at the Hay Festival.

She will be joined by Benedict Brogan, from The Telegraph, and Guto Harri, from News UK in the debate entitled "Why Choose Journalism?"

The trio will talk about why young people should sign up to the profession as well as giving tips on how get a foot in the door at 10am on May 30.

Mr Harri, a former BBC political correspondent and now director of communications with News UK, will talk about his company's training scheme.

"We cannot secure a sustainable future for world class journalism unless we find the young men and women who will find the stories, write the headlines, take the pictures, sell the papers and raise the advertising," he said.

"The news academy is designed to whet their appetite and get a foot in the door."

The talk is free but ticketed. Call the box office for more information on 01497 822 629.
