POLICE are trying to find out how a man sustained serious head injuries in Hereford.

A man in his 20s was found unconcious in the middle of Whitecross Road on April 18.

According to the police the man had been walking home along the road between 1.30am and 2.30am when he heard a woman screaming and shouting from the otherside of the road.

He said he went to see if he could help but soon after the man was found in the road by a member of the public.

DC Peter Bradbury, of Hereford CID, said: “This was the start of the Bank Holiday weekend and Whitecross Road is a busy route for people leaving the city centre clubs.

“We are trying to locate anyone who saw how this man came by his injuries. There were earlier reports of a female shouting in the same area. I am appealing to taxi drivers and people in the area at the time who can assist with this enquiry to get in touch."
