This is news......i thought it was normal for this time of year and obvious as to what it was. Did everyone think aliens were landing or something!

Better than the sound of S&A Produce Ltd trucks passing trough the village(s) 24/7. The sound of an empty truck hitting a pot hole is pretty loud in the middle of the night.

I heard them !! I heard them !!
I thought we were being invaded...
Thank Christ for Herefordshire's finest pamphlet clearing up for me what was a very frightening episode.
I will now emerge from my fortified bunker in the garden and remove my gas mask and tell the wife and kids to put the AK 47s away.
I thought I'd never get to see the cutting of the ribbon at Debenhams and taste the Spanish black olives à la Grècque from Waitrose or indeed pay the hefty parking charges with pleasure to park on an unbesmirched portion of fine black tarmac with my freshly muddied tyres.

Err. I would be surprised if the planes flying over Herefordshire were F15s though. Shurely shome mishtake from the HT's photo selection team..?

My dear friend Mizza21 I often see F15s flying over north Herefordshire, that said of course I did not see or hear the ones going over the city....could well have been a spy plane checking out the old market place.....you do realize we are the envy of the rest of the UK with our new development ;)

I have also seen F15s flying about the county, Mizza - I think they form part of a no-frills air command group called Uncle Sam.
The noise was pretty loud over the south side of the city, but not as loud as the F1s I saw at Silverstone a few years ago.

Well I stand corrected. It is not the first time I have been talking utter cobblers and I'm sure it won't be the last.
I wasn't aware we had any USAF bases near us.

I'll get back in me makeshift bunker..

Actually these planes start their runs from the Hereford area hence the noise of afterburners they then depart for a training sortie. They do this several times till they need more fuel, tally ho over and out.
