LAUDED as one the country’s great home cooks and the doyenne of Great British baking, Mary Berry is set to return to the county as one of the celebrity faces of this year's Flavours of Herefordshire Festival.

Held in the city centre at Castle Green between August 23 and 25 – bank holiday weekend – the festival is set to host treats from food and drink to crafts and entertainment over its three days.

And organisers have this week announced that much-loved baker, cookery book author and face of popular TV series The Great British Bake-off , Mary Berry, is due back in the celebrity theatre on Saturday 23.

For youngsters, Sunday will see the return of local Sea Legs Puppet Theatre with special guest CBeebies' Mister MakerTM.

Other events on offer for children include the Enchanted Garden, food-focused craft activities, face painting and badge making

Supported by S&A Fruits, Cargill, The Duchy of Cornwall, Friends of Castle Green and Hereford City Council as well as others, the event is set to showcase more than 120 local producers and food enterprises.

There will also be street food, cookery demonstrations, workshops, farmers' market and entertainment from buskers and musicians.
