AN international salon business has worked hard to raise thousands for a Hereford charity.

Staff at Salon Services, a provider of hair and beauty products, spent a year raising more than £63,000 for the Little Princess Trust (LPT).

LPT fund-raise and provide wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness.

Richard Hull, the managing director of Salon Services UK and Ireland, took part in a zipwire challenge in aid of the charity.

He said: "We’re delighted to be able to present LPT with this money and help support the fantastic work they do. Our staff have done some amazing activities to raise money which has allowed us to smash our target, even if it did mean I had to fly 500ft above the Welsh countryside.”

Despite the already enormous effort, the fund-raising doesn't stop there. The company has launched a new campaign encouraging people to post a picture of their bad hair day on Twitter with the hashtag #BadHairDay.

Monica Glass, LPT charity manager, said: “All of us here are so thankful to the team for their continued support of our charity. This is a truly significant amount of money and will go a long way in helping to relieve some of the stress and pain for children at what is a difficult time for them.”
