OLD FASHIONED money is becoming a thing of the past at the John Masefield High School, thanks to a new online system to pay for meals and school trips.
The system, called "Parentpay", went live today(Monday), to cover payments for both school meals and school trips.
Students obtain meals, according to the credit in their account, by use of a biometric thumb scan or through a pin number, or both.
Accounts can be topped up through online payments, or through machines in various locations in the school, including reception.
Headteacher, Andy Evans said: "We are delighted with the uptake and parents have told us that they are very happy with the new system. All parents should
now have received a letter containing a student identification number and details of how to access the online system for payments."
