A MAN was taken to hospital with face and head injuries after an assault in Newent.
The incident happened in the town's High Street at about 11.30pm on Friday and a 49-year-old man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.
Police believe there were a number of witnesses present at the time and are urging them to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 563 of 6/6/14
