HEREFORD’S firefighters are set to strike again, with industrial action planned tomorrow (June 21) from 10am to 5pm.

The Fire Brigade Union strike will take place in the height of BBQ season, with temperatures expected to hit the low-20s tomorrow.

However Adrian Elliot, of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, has warned the public not to take matters into their own hands.

He said: “During the firefighter strikes, we want people to be clear about what to do in the event of a fire.

“The most important point they need to know is that they will still get an emergency response and they should not be tempted to tackle fires themselves.”

People are also encouraged to take extra care during the seven-hour period when there will be reduced cover.
