THE story of the British Army expedition to Everest is to be told this weekend.

Delivered by Guy Homan and Dr Malcolm Russell, the talk will help to raise funds for Scotty's Little Soldiers – which supports children of the fallen – and spinal injury charity Aspire.

The expedition in 2006 later went on to be made into a documentary called Man versus Mountain.

The talk takes place at the Masonic Hall on Kyrle Street, Hereford, at 7pm on Saturday (June 28).

Tickets cost £10 and are available in advance by calling 01568 613942 and are also available on the door on the evening.

The event is supporting a group of 10 military wives who will be scaling Mount Kilimanjaro next month.

All funds raised on the evening will be matched by American company Peli Products.
