LEDBURY town councillors are to meet with a Balfour Beatty representative to hear more about the so-called "lengthsman scheme", for grass verges.
At a time when the town council is considering taking on some green spaces from Herefordshire Council, a number of councillors are also in favour of hiring someone to care for and keep designated stretches of highway in good order.
This lengthsman would be paid for by the town council.
But former mayor, Coun Jayne Roberts, sounded a note of caution.
She said: "There are quite a few questions we need to ask of someone with more experience than ourselves."
This is reason for the planned meeting with a Balfour Beatty representative.
