HAY-ON-WYE’S fourth throwback gala, organised by Hay Does Vintage, saw record numbers hit the stalls as the town was taken over by two festivals last weekend.

This year’s fayre, V for Vintage, had well over 1000 visitors through the door, with many of those in town for the food festival dropping in to feed their appetite for retro clothing.

“It was a perfect weekend of events,” said Hay Does Vintage’s Jo Hodges.

“We’re really thrilled at the huge effort our traders made to ensure that the fayre is a visual treat for visitors – and it’s so lovely that many people attended in full vintage clothing.”

There were more than 50 vintage and retro traders based around three venues in the town centre on Sunday – and the fayre will be returning for more in November.

As well as retro clothing, stalls featured home wares, furniture jewellery, china, and upcycled items made from genuine vintage originals.

Ms Hodges said: "Hay Does Vintage has become a destination for fashionistas.”
