FORMER LEDBURY MP, Lord Peter Temple-Morris and his wife, Lady Tahere, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last Saturday, July 26.
Bishop John Oliver, formerly Bishop of Hereford, officiated at a thanksgiving service in the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, Palace of Westminster.
This was followed by a reception and lunch on the terrace of the House of Lords, for family and friends.
Lord Temple-Morris famously "crossed over" from Conservative to Labour in 1998.
He had been elected Conservative MP for the Leominster ward in 1974, but by 1997 he was increasingly critical of the Conservatives and actually sat on New Labour benches, as an independent, before joining the Labour Party.
He was Ledbury's MP until the 2001, when he stood down, to follow a new career as a Labour peer.
