THE supreme champion sheep at Llanigon Young Farmers Show was Llanthomas Saffron, owned by local farmer Marion Jones.
The three-year-old Texel ewe was awarded the top prize by Texel judge Colin Phillips of Sarnesfield and Interbreed judge Huw Jones of Painscastle.
Marion Jones, who was at Saturday’s show with grandson Rhodri, was representing GP & M Jones, Llanthomas Farm, Llanigon near Hay-on-Wye.
Before the show began, the committee held a minute’s silence in memory of Powell Jones, Llanthomas who died last November.
