THE best of the county's rural culture was celebrated in the Golden Valley last weekend.
Vintage tractors, sheep shearing and a number of other attractions were all on display at Longtown and District Show, which was held at Llanwonog Farm, last Saturday.
And more than 1,000 people joined the fun at the long-running festival which was this year opened by Jules Hudson.
Chairman of the show, Andrew Christopher, hailed the day a great success.
"We had a very large crowd – probably one of the largest for many years – and lots of families. It kept dry throughout the day too which was great.
"There were a large number of attractions including sheep shearing, a vintage tractor display, horse and pony classes, children's races, dog races and a dog show.
"I think it was a record number in the produce tent this year too."
There was also a strongest man competition and for the first time, there was an after show lunch which raised more than £300 for Help for Heroes charity.
"It's just a good family day out and that's what we cater for," added Mr Christopher.
