ONE of Herefordshire's first outdoor gym was unveiled last week.

Already popular in several countries worldwide – California’s Muscle Beach has a global reputation – the outdoor gym serves to encourage people to get fresh air and fit for free.

It was installed by Herefordshire Housing (HHL) which saved £100,000 for two outdoor gyms as part if its 'Value for Money' efficiency savings campaign.

The gym, near Yazor Brook in Moor Farm, Hereford was opened last Thursday by Commonwealth gold medallist Rob Weale.

Another is currently being installed at Tudorville in Ross-on-Wye and is due to open in the next few weeks.

Fitness fanatics of all ages attended the launch to test out the equipment and were helped by thePoint4 team who provided demonstrations.

A variety of equipment has been installed, including children's exercise bikes and specialist equipment for disabled users.

It is open for anyone to use at any time of the day and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

All items display instructions on how to use them safely and effectively.
