A MURDER probe into the death of a man at Hereford County Hospital has ended, with Powys police closing its investigation.
Darren Deakins, 42, was found in a field near his Presteigne home last year.
He died at Hereford hospital on August 19, sparking an inquiry into his death.
A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death but this week police officers confirmed no one will face charges in connection with the incident.
A statement from Dyfed-Powys Police said: “A file was passed to the Crown Prosecution Service and the response was that there will be no further action. There is no ongoing investigation.”
Powys coroner Andrew Barkley will now hold an inquest into Mr Deakins' death on November 13 in Brecon.
Mr Deakins had been found in Wentes Meadow.
