TICKETS are now available for a special service at Worcester Cathedral later this month thanking NHS staff in the county for their hard work.

The Service of Celebration on Sunday, September 28 is one of a series of events being held by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital, throughout the last week in September recognising the tireless work of health staff.

The event will begin with a procession through Worcester city centre at 1.30pm before the service at 2pm, which will be led by Bishop of Worcester the Rt Rev Dr John Inge.

The trust’s chairman Harry Turner said he was pleased to be able to give something back to staff.

“My main ambition, amongst other things, is that we engage with and take every opportunity to recognise the excellent work done by our staff,” he said.

“I know there are many people who share my sentiments and will want to show their support and appreciation for their local NHS services.

“I know that the service is going to be a fantastic celebration and I urge people to come along and share what promises to be a very memorable day.”

Other events being held throughout the week include a ceremony recognising those who have worked for the trust for 25 years or more and a staff appreciation day.
