A COUNTY MP took on the ice bucket challenge last week for a local cause.
Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, was nominated by Belmont resident Andrew Cooper.
The drenching took place at the Weston Cross Inn, just after Mr Norman had completed a charity walk in aid of the Royal National College for the Blind and the West Midlands Air Ambulance.
He raised £169.25 for The Music Pool – the community music charity for Herefordshire and the surrounding area.
Speaking after he'd had a chance to dry off, Mr Norman said: "I am a patron of The Music Pool and have donated the money to their aptly named 'Splash' appeal, which is seeking to raise £50,000 to continue their great work using music as a tool to connect with some of the most vulnerable children and adults in the county."
In turn, he nominated Labour MP Chuka Umunna, shadow secretary of state for business, innovation and skills.
