A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after coming off his bike on the motorway near Ross-on-Wye this morning.

Emergency services were called to the M50 at around 6am.

The male driver was fully immobilised and taken to Worcester Royal Hospital but was not thought to have sustained any serious injuries.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, firefighters extinguished a blaze in the kitchen area of a property in Three Crosses Close in Ross-on-Wye.

Crews from Ross-on-Wye and Fownhope used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to put out the fire after receiving the report at around 12.30pm.

An elderly woman was also treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

On Saturday afternoon, a fire involving burnt food was put out in Ledbury.

Crews were called to a property on New Street at around 3.30pm and used positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the flames.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle to the scene and treated one patient for mild smoke inhalation but no further treatment was required.
