AROUND 150 customers were without drinking water for a short time after a water main burst in Hereford this morning.

Welsh Water immediately sent a team to investigate after being made aware of the burst main on Holme Lacy Road.

Kevin Bateman, Eastern Area Distribution Manager for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, said: “In order to carry out the repair quickly and safely, supplies to approximately 150 customers were affected.

“The repair has now been carried out and supply was fully restored to all customers in less than two hours. The reinstatement work will be carried out in the next few days.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank customers for bearing with us whilst we carried out the repair.”

Meanwhile, the road is expected to be closed until the middle of this week due to emergency gas main work.
