NEW figures show that 1558 local people in the North Herefordshire parliamentary constituency, which includes Ledbury, were suffering from dementia in 2013.

Ledbury's MP, Bill Wiggin, responding to the statistics said: "I always take the chance to support Alzheimer’s Society when I can, as I believe this is one health issue that we cannot afford to ignore.

"Alzheimer’s Society continues to do fantastic work in North Herefordshire, - with their day care dementia service in Ledbury and their dementia cafe in Leominster."
