A TRIO of talented Herefordshire horse riders will be competing in front of the biggest crowd of their young careers at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham next week.
Seven-year-old Anna Crump, six-year-old Hannah Wilson and 13-year-old Lucy Scudamore will be showing in front of thousands at the prestigious event at the NEC.
Mum Serena said she is very proud of her daughter Anna, who has only been competing for 12 months.
She said: “All three girls are very excited.
“Anna’s never been there before, she could be going to the local gymkhana for all she knows – but she’s looking forward to it.”
Anna, a Hereford Cathedral School pupil, will be competing in the Mountain and Moorland Lead Reign category.
Like all the riders at the Horse of the Year Show, she won her place by winning one of the 20 qualifying events throughout the country, Ponies Week in Stoneleigh.
Hannah, who goes to the Kingsland Primary School, secured her spot by winning in Solihull and Lucy, who attends The Elms, won an event at the New Forest in Hampshire.
The three girls all keep their ponies at the same yard, near Cannock, where they get riding lessons.
