A CROSS between the Tour De France and the Italian Job, a team from the Hereford Roundtable is driving six Minis across France to raise money for charity.

In two weeks 12 Herefordians will be crossing the Channel to visit six French Round Tables from the north-eastern tip to the south of the country.

They are aiming to complete the whistle-stop tour in just four days, making it back to Hereford by 8pm on Sunday November 30.

The team will be driving brightly-coloured Minis leant to them by Cotswold Mini and will be raising £5,000 by getting each driver sponsored by a local firm.

That money will then be distributed by the Round Table to a variety of good causes.

One criteria laid out by the team ahead of their adventure is to stick to France’s byways and backroads in order to take in as much of the countryside as possible.

They will also take with them hamper of Herefordshire produce to present to their fellow Round Tablers, and may, in return sample some of the local refreshments - especially when they reach wine country for their stop in Reims and Epernay.

The Round Table team on a mission to bring Herefordshire to the French is Etienne Sockett, Jammie Crawford, Gavin Williams, William Jackson, Jason Hicks, Andrew Johnson, Andrew Banks, James Arnold, Kiegan Valley, Luke Conod, David Hancorn and Darren Howe.
