HUNDREDS turned out to see Hereford's High Town lit up last night.
The city's mayor, councillor Len Tawn, was joined by the junior mayor, Martin Koveckis, in pushing the switch to formally turn the festive lights on.
Father Christmas was also there, listening to children's request's for presents, while musicians played on a stage in front of a large crowd.
Yesterday's event also signalled the first evening of late-night shopping on each Wednesday in the run-up to Christmas in Hereford.
