A CAMPAIGN aiming to reduce the demand A&E departments in Worcestershire by raising awareness of the other services available throughout the county has won a prestigious award.

The Is A&E For Me? campaign was awarded silver in the Midlands category of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards earlier this month.

The campaign was led by the communications team at NHS South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), who worked in conjunction with other health bodies and authorities in the region to raise awareness of services such as Minor Injuries Units and the NHS 111 telephone line.

Urgent Care Strategy Lead for NHS South Worcestershire CCG Ruth Davoll said: “It’s fantastic that all the hard work that has gone into this campaign has been recognised with this award.

“It’s very important that people know what health services are available to them when they’re injured or unwell, to reduce the seasonal pressures on the county’s emergency departments.”

The awards ceremony took place on Friday, November 14 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry – site of Worcester City FC’s recent FA cup first round triumph.
