HOUSING developer Gladman is pitching the prospect of another major planning application in the county.

This week the company is canvassing views on a mini village of around 100 new homes on land off Longworth Lane in Bartestree.

The public consultation over the Longworth Lane plan comes soon after another Gladman pitch for more than 100 homes on fields at the edge of Bromyard between Pencombe Lane and the A44.

This, too, is currently the subject of consultation ahead of any formal planning application being submitted.

Gladman plans to build 110 new homes off Hampton Dene Road, Hereford, and 90 new homes at Clehonger are also under consideration.

In its newsletter, Bartestree and Lugwardine Parish Action Group, said: "The Parish Action Group will strongly oppose this development, as we have done (successfully so far) with all the other premature and speculative proposals.

"We believe that no major building should be allowed until the County Core Strategy and the Parish Neighbourhood Plan are in place next year. These should restrict new housing to a reasonable amount, on locations favoured by the community, and built at a gradual rate which allows the parish to adapt."
