A HEREFORD man who popped into a pub for a drink after walking his dog has been banned from driving for 12 months.

Graham Morris, 66, of Campbell Close, Saxon Gate, had driven to Withington to walk his dog, when he went into the Cross Keys Inn.

Hereford Magistrates Court heard he bumped into some old friends, and one pint turned into two, but he still felt able to drive.

Police stopped him on the A465 just after 5pm. A test showed he had 118mg of alcohol per 100ml of urine. The limit is 107mg.

He was fined £160, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also banned Morris from the road for 12 months.
