THIS hauntingly beautiful video of last week's solar eclipse was filmed and set to music by amateur astronomer Steve Avery.

Mr Avery, who is retired, has also been interested in the cosmos since the Sixties. He is also a keen naturalist.

He said: "As it was very cloudy I thought it would be better to film through the telescope, thus getting the close-up shots."

He lives in Mathon with his wife, Sue, a world renowned expert in infertility treatments.

The couple have many interests.

They have produced a book on prominent composers, and were involved in early computer games in the Eighties. See the video here.
