RAIL services on one line through the county were delayed yesterday after reports that a person had been hit by a train.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Abergavenny Railway Station at 3pm and found a man near the railway line.
However, he had not been struck by a train and had suffered no apparent injuries.
BTP said the 30-year-old from Abergavenny was arrested on suspicion of trespass at the scene and received a police caution.
Trains on the route experienced minor delays for a period of around two hours while precautionary, routine safety checks were carried out.
Arriva Train Wales services returned to normal running at 5pm.
