FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a cow stuck in mud in Kempsey.
The stranded animal was brought to safety using farm machinery.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Worcester and Pershore attended the incident in Ashmoor Common at 2.59pm yesterday and provided additional manpower to assist the farmer.
Once rescued the cow was left in the care of the farmer and a vet.
This operation came after a similar incident in the same area on Tuesday, when fire crews helped winch a pregnant cow out of a muddy brook.
Their brave efforts saved the life of the animal and that of her unborn calf.
