A GLIMPSE into the county's milling heritage is on offer next month.

Sixteen old mills in Herefordshire are taking part in National Mills Weekend over the weekend of May 9 and 10.

They range from an 18th century timber-framed mill at Eastnor Castle to a traditional pony-worked cider mill in Bacton.

At Arrow Mill in Kingsland, which will be open on the Sunday, the waterwheel will be turning and at Olchon House Farm Mill in Llanveynoe the mill will be grinding corn during Saturday afternoon.

The Waterworks Museum in Hereford will also have its engines in steam on the Sunday.

For the full list of mills open throughout the weekend and for exact opening times visit nationalmillsweekend.co.uk, Leominster Tourist Information Centre or call Alan Stoyel on 01544 230235.
