EIGHT gardens in the Ledbury area will be open to the public next week, to help raise funds for community mini-buses.

The event, on Saturday June 6, has been organised by the Friends of Community Action, Ledbury.

A spokesman said: "The gardens will be open to visitors from 2pm to 6pm, providing a fantastic opportunity to view an array of private and very different gardens with a wide variety of plants, plus enjoy teas and plant sales.

The open gardens will include Gloucester House, The Stables, 28 The Southend and Bank House on The Southend; The Vineyard and Woofields Farm , Coddington, and Finches and The Shieling at Knapp Ridge.

Tickets will be on sale on the day from The Masters House from 10.30 am and from John Masefield High School Car Park from 1.30pm and at individual participating gardens. A visit to one group of gardens is £5, or £10 to visit all three sets. Occasional transport to all gardens is also available from JMHS Car Park.

The spokesman said: "The Friends of Community Action support Community Action, Ledbury through fundraising to allow them to provide events and community projects for the people of Ledbury. The Open Garden Scheme hopes to raise money to help towards the purchase of minibuses to transport local people urgent appointments."
