ORGANISING any festival is hard work but those planning one on the Welsh border are at least blessed with glorious views as they go about their work.

Andrew Compton is the Kington Walking Festival’s press officer and he was up checking on the pathways around Bradnor Hill when he took this photograph.

The pictured view is that seen when looking east from the vantage point towards Weobley. The image includes the new ‘Wyche Way’ walk which runs through Herefordshire and connects the Welsh borders, near Kington, with the Cotswolds.

The walk will be officially opened by Kate Ashbrook, the Ramblers British Walking Charity president, during the festival which runs from September 17 to 20.

This year the festival features 38 walks for people of all ages and all abilities. For further details, please visit the http://kingtonwalks.org/ website.
