A SPARKLING wine which is made from grapes at a vineyard near Ross-on-Wye has won an international award.
Castle Brook has won its second silver medal at the Decanter World Wine awards 2015 for its 2009 vintage Classic Cuvée.
Previously known as Chinn Chinn, the newly labelled Classic Cuvée is a traditionally styled Brut, which has been made using traditional Champagne grapes grown in a valley in Coughton.
The 2009 vintage was released early this year and has also just won the Montagu Trophy for Best Presented Wine in the English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition 2015.
Since the release of the first vintage in 2006, the Castle Brook Classic Cuvée has picked up four silver medals - including two at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
The Chinn family, who produce the wine, are best known for their Wye Valley asparagus, and also produce rhubarb and blueberries under the Wye Valley Produce brand.
