RESIDENTS at a Leominster retirement home have donated £400 to a community transport scheme.
The cash was given to Community Wheels in support of its valuable transport provision from those living at Townsend Court.
The residents raised the money through coffee mornings, the sale of cakes which were made by Gentian Littleworth and personal donations.
Julie Romeo, Townsend Court Manager, said: "The residents of Townsend Court use Community Wheels for many reasons and wanted to support a local charity.
"They do a wonderful job in taking our residents to doctors and hospital appointments."
Community Wheels – which provides door to door transport for people who do not have access to a car and are unable to use public transport due to mobility difficulties – is looking for a team of fundraisers.
Anyone interested in fundraising should contact Sarah Bateman on 01568 617722.
To find out more about the service or to become a volunteer driver contact Community Wheels on 01568 615785.
