A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been jailed for six years after attempting to rape a teenage girl in Leominster.
Christopher Stephen Williams, who is 23 and from Wigmore, attacked his victim in an alleyway in April 2014, Worcester Crown Court heard on Friday.
Investigating officer DS Mark Jinks said "This was a heinous crime against a young girl who was simply walking home. She has displayed enormous courage in providing evidence that has helped secure this conviction against a dangerous sex offender.
"West Mercia Police are committed to tackling sexual crime and minimising the risk of harm to everyone".
