REHEARSALS never stop for the busy string ensemble of the John Masefield High School.

The group recently performed at the school's open evening, but the diary date is fuller than that.

A school spokesman said: "This string ensemble is one of our twelve extra-curricular music ensembles that rehearse weekly at John Masefield High School.

"They currently include pupils from year eight to year 12 of varying abilities, and the group is open to anyone who can play a string instrument. They play a variety of music from Game of Thrones to Pachelbel's Canon to Happy as well as Christmas music."

The spokesman added: "Throughout the year the ensemble rehearses for our Christmas Concert, Herefordshire Performing Arts Festival, Summer Concert, a project with the Schubert Ensemble with Hellens and our orchestra also accompanies our annual production."
