THE newly refurbished Ross-on-Wye swimming pool has been officially opened.

The centre run by Halo has undergone a £2.3m refurbishment.

The pool was closed for a year for the work and finally reopened its doors last month.

Harry Bramer, Herefordshire Council cabinet member for contracts and assets and Ross town councillor, officially opened the venue last Friday and Mayor of Ross Colin Gray spoke at the opening.

The gym, workout studio, sauna, steam room and changing rooms have all been revamped.

There have been some teething problems since it reopened with complaints about buggies not being allowed in the changing rooms.

But this has been addressed and a play pen has now been put in the changing rooms for during children's swimming lessons.

Jessica Powell from Halo said: "We have had a really good positive response. People really like it and the new group timetable."
