LAND artist Kate Raggett is among the 40 artists exhibiting at this year's Out of Nature exhibition at Newport House in Almeley.

Kate has followed the mandala-themed piece she - and visitors to the exhibition - created at the first Out of Nature event in 2013, with a stunning piece of land art created from poplar sourced from the Newport House woods.

The piece was made over two days and at the end of the second, Kate sent up her drone to take aerial images, the first time she saw the completed work.

"I used to go up in a helicopter to take aerial pictures," says Kate, adding that it occasionally offered some hair-raising moments, like the time when gaffer tape was used to secure her seat belt. "The drone is brilliant," she says. "I've no idea how it works, but my husband loves it."

Out of Nature runs until Sunday, October 25, open from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For further details, visit outofnature.org.uk
