THE business community has pitched in to help clean up Hereford city centre.
Staff from Tesco, McDonalds and The Hereford Business Improvement District (HBID) scrubbed signs, bins and benches as well as tackling weeds and moss.
The 12 volunteers cleaned in Commercial Street, High Town, St Peters Street, Broad Street, Eign Gate and the underpass as part of the second community clean-up organised by HBID.
Mike Truelove, operations manager for the HBID, said: “The event was fantastic – we had so many volunteers arrive to help and we all received several pats on the back from passers-by, as well as offers of teas and coffees from shops.
"Once again I think the willingness and effort from the local business community demonstrates the pride and belief we all have that Hereford is wonderful place to live, work and shop in.
"We couldn’t have done this clean up without the help of Tesco and McDonalds and I think it is important for all local businesses to know that they are supported in attracting higher footfall.”
