POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an alleged wounding in Bromyard on Christmas Eve.

The incident is believed to have happened between 12.15am and 12.30am on Christmas Eve (Thursday December 24) and taken place near to the Queens Arms on High Street.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital after sustaining a wound to his neck.

Kai Johns, 21, of St Michaels Road, Worcester has been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and will appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday April 11.

Prior to the alleged wounding, officers say that a suspected assault took place at around 10.51pm when an unknown man was thought to have been physically assaulted by a group of men.

Officers are looking to trace the victim of this assault and anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Detectives also want to speak to any witnesses to the alleged wounding.

It is believed the drive of a black car which was parked near to the Co-operative supermarket on High Street may be able to help police.
