BRICKS at the top of a town wall were leaning precariously over a road in Ross-on-Wye, a county councillor said.
Richard Mayo, a Ross town councillor and county councillor, said Wilton Road was closed for repairs to the town wall when they realised the top was leaning around six inches into the carriageway.
When workmen came to remove the wall, the top four bricks could be removed by hand.
Cllr Mayo said it was a good job the bricks were removed before they fell around 20 feet and caused a major injury or fatality.
The matter is now with Herefordshire Council to resolve.
