A HEREFORD couple who became pregnant after undergoing fertility treatment in Greece say they have been contacted by would-be parents from around the world.

Kirsty and Kyle Morgan travelled to Athens for IVF treatment last September after years of trying to conceive naturally.

Their one chance on the NHS here in Herefordshire was unsuccessful, with the Greek option proving cheaper than private clinics here and offering a better success rate.

A few weeks after returning to their home on Holme Lacy Road in South Wye, Kirsty discovered she was pregnant. Their story was told in the Daily Mail, prompting messages from couples they had never met.

"Loads of people have got in touch with us asking how they should go about the treatment," said Kirsty, who is 27.

"We been contacted by people all over the world.

"It's been really nice to give people advice."

The pregnancy has been tinged with sadness, though. At their first scan, the couple were told Kirsty was expecting twins, but sadly they lost one of their babies at six weeks.

The couple have been given a due date of Tuesday, May 31.

"Things are going really well," said Kirsty.

"It's starting to get close now and is beginning to feel real.

"We haven't a clue what the sex is; we have decided not to find out. We want it to be a surprise."

The mum-to-be says she has been overwhelmed by support from family and friends, both during the IVF process and since finding out she was expecting.

"We have been keeping people up-to-date, including those at the clinic in Greece who we've sent pictures of the scan."

The couple say they want to raise funds to help out other would-be parents going through the same struggle to conceive.

They plan to do this by raising money at various events including car boot sales around the county.

Their first was a couple of weeks ago at Hinton Community Centre, with more planned for the coming weeks.

"We want to raise as much as we can," she said. "A couple of thousand pounds would be great."
