TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving three vehicles in St Owen's Cross.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A49 and the B4521 at around 9.30am this morning.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said one person was released from a vehicle by fire crews, who attended from Ross-on-Wye and Whitchurch.

A man in his 70s, the driver of one of the cars, suffered pain to his chest and cuts to his legs and was immobilised and taken to Hereford County Hospital.

A second patient was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The A49 is currently closed in both directions.
