FOUR Herefordshire members of the South Marches District Scouts have received the highest youth programme award in scouting.
Greg Symonds, Meg Debbage, James Price and Elliot Kowal are all members of Wye Network – the Scouting provision for 18-25 year olds in Herefordshire.
They made the trip to Windsor Castle to celebrate the achievement of receiving their Queens Scout Award – the result of several years of hard work, dedication and team work.
The award runs alongside the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award which all four have also achieved.
Greg said: "The outstanding moment was definitely the review with Bear Grylls after the chapel service – mainly because he described us all as heroes."
Prince Michael of Kent, Bear Grylls, chief scout, Steve Backshall ambassador for cubs 100 and Wayne Bulpitt, UK Chief Commissioner, were all present alongside fellow award-holders from across the country.
