A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a severe leg injury in a crash and was taken to hospital by air ambulance last night.

Emergency services were called to the B4222 Aston Ingham to Kilcot road in south Herefordshire at 6.55pm last night.

A rapid response vehicle was on scene in eight minutes and was backed up by an ambulance shortly afterwards.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found a motorbike with significant damage, a tree that had crash damage and the rider in a field next to the road.

“The rider, who was in his 60s had suffered severe leg injuries.

“The crew immediately requested an air ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Stensham was sent to the scene.

“The man was given pain relief and had his leg splinted before he was airlifted to the major trauma centre at Bristol Southmead Hospital.”
