AN adaptation of a Victorian gin palace will be opening at the former BBQs and Brews this summer.
The site in Commercial Road in Hereford will be developed as a Hogarths Gin Palace and will sell more than 100 gins.
BBQs and Brews closed in October last year but contractors have now started on the site.
Amber Taverns, which owns the site, will soon start recruiting and aim to open in early July.
It will not serve food and under 18s will not be allowed on the premises.
Gary Roberts, operations director for Amber Taverns, said: "We are investing £750,000 to refurbish the former BBQ & Brews to create a beautiful adaptation of a Victorian gin palace – stain glass windows, cut glass mirrors and stunning chandeliers complement the stunning craftsmanship of the local workmen from Macaulay Jones of Kidderminster.
"We will also have a wide variety of local ciders to acknowledge the craft brewers and heritage of cider production in Herefordshire.
"We will also have a full Sky and BT sports package to show a multitude of live sports on the dozen or so TVs dotted around the pub – but that doesn’t make us a sports bar."
There will also be a wide range of draught beers and cask ales and cocktails.
It will be open all day every day and is expected to trade late at weekends.
