POLICE have charged a man in connection with two recent house burglaries in the Ledbury area.

The development came following a house search in Ledbury, where jewellery was recovered by officers.

A spokesman for Hereford CID, DC Laurence James, said one of the burglaries took place at Bank Crescent on Thursday June 9, between 3.30pm and 4.40pm.

There was another burglary on the same day, in Horse Road, Wellington Heath, near Ledbury.

DC James said the burglary took place at some time between 12.30pm and 8pm.

Police conducted a search warrant at an address in Ledbury on Monday June 13 and recovered jewellery which officers believe was from the burglary at Wellington Heath.

DC James said: "Following on from this a 37 year old male from Wednesbury, West Midlands, has been arrested and charged with both the burglaries.

"He has been remanded in custody until July 13 where he will appear at Worcester Crown Court."

The man's name has not been revealed by police, at the present time.

They also want to hear from anyone has remembered seeing a male dressed in dark/black clothing those areas on that date.
