VOLUNTEERS have given Leominster's bus station a makeover.

Councillor Clive Thomas coordinated a seven-hour effort to spruce up the area which had become dirty and strewn with litter.

For visitors, the bus station is often the first part of town they see so the group wanted to make sure it was as welcoming as possible.

Cllr Thomas was helped by Johnathon Miles and James Miles from Apex Electrical, Andrew Miles from RMS, Robert Parker from Leominster Building Supplies (LBS) and Pulse FX and Mark Newton, manager of Leominster Co-op, and Butch from Leominster Co-op.

Discovery Tool Hire donated a scissor lift, trailer and water tank while LBS supplied water and stored the equipment.

The troops were fed and watered by the Co-op on what was one of the hottest days of the year, starting at 6.30am and completing the task by 2pm.

Cllr Thomas said: "There are some wonderful people in Leominster.

"I hope that people appreciate what was done by these volunteers and help us keep it clean in the future."
